We’re all aware of the fact that technology is moving forward at a really fast pace, but if you ever needed proof, then this new Kickstarter project is it. Called CHIP, this tiny computer is “built for work, play, and everything in between!” according to its creators, and comes at a price of only $9!
CHIP can perform basic tasks just like any other computer: you can check your emails, surf the web, write out and save documents, play video games, etc. The best part is that you pay $9 for all of that, and you can fit CHIP into your pocket. Of course, you’ll need a keyboard and a monitor, but hey, it will still cost a lot less than a laptop or a tablet.
What’s great about CHIP is that it comes pre-installed with a number of useful open source software, such as LibreOffice, the Chromium web browser, and the coding tool Scratch, plus it can run thousands of other free apps. You can connect Bluetooth controllers to CHIP to play games or a MIDI keyboard to have jam sessions – wherever you are! The device also includes built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB, microUSB, and an audio jack.
If you think that this project deserves your attention, then you can head over to the official CHIP Kickstarter page and learn more about it. To make CHIP a reality, its creators need to raise $50,000, so if you want, you can help them out. 🙂0
