We had a chance to meet One Touch Idol X for the first time at MWC 2013 in Barcelona several months ago, and now it has been formalized and ready to be launched.
Idol X is another smartphone in Alcatel One Touch line of devices. One Touch Idol X features amazing specifications that include a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM. A 13.1-mega-pixel camera on the back and a 2-mega-pixel front camera that will meet all your needs when it comes to taking photos and videos, while 8 GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card is more than enough to store them all and more.
All of these features are packed inside a body with dimensions of 140.4 mm x 67.5 mm and thickness of only 6.9 mm. It’s a wonder how Alcatel managed to put a 2000 mAh Lithium battery inside that thin chassis. The unit is driven by Android Jelly Bean 4.2 operating system and it supports 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM Radio and more. The Idol X will be also available in both, single and dual SIM version.
Taking into account its particularly interesting characteristics, especially low price (around £ 255), it looks like the Alcatel One Touch Idol X is going to give some of the most popular smartphones run for their money. The phone will be available in three colour options: black, red and yellow, and it will be arriving in the UK in the coming weeks.
