Samsung has proudly unveiled its new Android model – the Samsung Galaxy Beam. This mobile phone has an integrated pico projector with a 15 lumens brightness, allowing the projector usage even outdoors. This will be useful for a presentation “on the go”, since it is going to be able to project an image that can be up to 50 inches wide, and with a resolution 640 x 360.
The device will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread (update scheduled ICS) and a Samsung battery of 2000 mAh. Interestingly, the Galaxy Beam is 12.5 mm thick, it is a bit bulky compared to today’s smartphone standards, but still it is an impressive device because of its built-in projector.
Regarding other features, the Samsung Galaxy Beam has a 4″ TFT screen with a resoluton of 480 × 800 WVGA, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 768MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, expandable to additional 32 GB via microSD card. It has a rear camera of 5MP with flash, front camera of 1.3 MP and it will be capable of recording 720p HD video at 30fps.
When it comes to autonomy, Samsung officials said that the battery can last up to 3 hours when the projector is on, giving you enough time to watch a good movie while you travel, for example.
