Yesterday, Nokia posted an image of a mysterious black box on its Facebook and Twitter pages, and today we learned what was hidden in the box – the new Nokia N1 tablet.
The N1 comes with the latest Android update – Android 5.0 Lollipop – and sports a 7.9” display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. On the inside is a 64-bit 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor, backed by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable built-in storage.
On the back of the tablet is an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, and there’s a 5-megapixel shooter in the front. In terms of connectivity, you get dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac , Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB 2.0. The tablet comes with a 5,300mAh battery and the Nokia Z launcher on top of Android Lollipop.
The tablet is available in Natural Aliminium and Lava Grey and will officially be launched in China in Q1 2015 at the price of $249 (around £160). We’re yet to find out when this new tablet will launch in Europe and the US.
