You’re finally done with spring cleaning: your home is spotless, trash-free, and you feel like you can finally breathe again. Before you move on to another task, however, why not clean and change up your iOS device a bit, too? Here are a couple of tips that will help you freshen up your iPhone. 🙂
Free Up Some Space
The best way to do this is to transfer photos and videos to your computer, and then delete them from your iPhone. If you have a Mac computer, you can do this via iPhoto or Image Photo, and if you have a Windows PC, you can turn to iTunes or the File Explorer. Sync your photos, and once that’s done, delete them from your Camera Roll.
Apps eat a lot of storage space as well, so if you’ve got unnecessary apps lying around your iPhone, now is the time to get rid of them. Go to Settings>General>Usage>Manage Storage to see which ones are taking up the most room. To delete a certain app, find it on the list and then tap on it, or delete it directly from your Home screen by pressing down on it and tapping the small “x”.
Reset Your iPhone’s Settings
If you are feeling particularly crazy, you can reset all of your current setting – all of your installed apps and accounts will stay in place. To do this, head over to Settings>General>Reset, and then Reset Settings (not Reset Content and Settings). Your iPhone will ask you to type in your passcode (if you have one), and after that your device will go back to its factory settings.
Change Up Your Home Screen
Why not reorganize your apps? You can do this in a couple of ways, but the easiest is to reset the home screen layout on your phone. Go to Settings>General, and then scroll down until you get to Reset>Home Screen Layout. Tap on it – your apps will still be there after the reset, but they will be placed in random order all over your screen.0
