The rumours were right – RIM designed the clamshell smartphone with a full keyboard. The new smartphone from BlackBerry polarized the public – some think it’s disgusting, others are pleased with a clamshell phone with the new BlackBerry OS Version 6. Only slightly larger than a credit card, hidden under the flap, a full keyboard, as you would expect from a BlackBerry.
Technically, the BlackBerry style – to a lesser extent – offers standard features: UMTS, WLAN n, Bluetooth (including A2DP), GPS and leaves little to be desired. A 5-megapixel camera in VGA resolution is also featured, and the new smartphone is back-compatible with the existing BlackBerry Accessories.
The range of software for BlackBerry remains far behind the competition, however, 512MB of internal memory provides enough room to try the offer of software. The included 8GB microSD memory card should keep the promise of 14 hours of music. Battery of BlackBerry Style 9670 lasts up to 10 days in standby mode.
The new BlackBerry will be launched in U.S on the 31st of October.
